In 2011 we were looking for a range of boltsin different sizes with matching nuts and washers for a project we were working on, we jumped online and googled away, the results were random, and if we did find a kit the product didn’t resemble the product normally found in the local bolt and nut shop, the heads were either the wrong spanner sizes (common issue) or they were full of diameters or lengths that looked like they were all the sizes someone had excess stock of and were trying to clear.
So,we sourced a selection of the most popular product lines locally and made up a few different kits with the intention to sell them online, we spent many late nights making them up in our garage. We packed the product in Australian made Fischer containers, they were dearer but you could see why, Fischer is a well-known brand with a lot of history and the quality was the best on the market. We thought people wanted a betterchoice than what we could find, using quality product to give them confidence to buy our product. Price wasn’t the only factor.
Why did we choose eBay? It was simple, it was quick and easy to get our products online, eBay was a fast-growing online market. We really liked the fact eBay made you accountable, they enforced policies that protected the buyer and the seller, we figured if they didn’t like us they would leave negative feedback which would tarnish our attempt to be a reputable online seller and if they liked us they would give us good feedback and we would get return buyers.
It didn’t take long before our sales of kits started to take off, our range grew and realised people also needed to refill them. The only option, if you could find them online was industry standard pack sizes of 100/200, that didn’t suit the majority so we started to add to our eBay store multiple pack quantities.
Sales kept growing.
In 2 short years, we had over 6000 positive feedback, 6 years later it has grown to over 66,000 positive feedback and regretfully 9 negative.
Now after several years, we now boastthe largest range on eBay of fasteners covering all types of bolts and nuts, socket screws, washers, machine screws, rivets, screws, self-drillers, boat hardware, masonry fasteners, the list goes on.
In 2016 we relocated to larger premises in Murarrie, QLD, our 4th move in 6 years. Our new warehouse holds > 12,000 stock lines and over 90 million pieces in stock ready for same day despatch. If you have a question or need some help, contact us thru the eBay message service. You will find we don't take long to reply.
