Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do you have a nursery and how can I contact you?
A: Yes we have a nursery, located in Mt Dandenong. Note: We are open on Saturdays only 10.00 - 5.00pm. If you have any questions or want to make an appointment.
 Q: Do you allow pickup?
A: Yes pickup is available on Saturdays 10.00-5.00pm or as arranged by appointment.
Q: Do you combine multiple purchases for a reduced postage?
A: Hi, Yes we combine multiple purchases for reduced postage fees. The first item is $8.90, plus $1.00 per extra item, up to 500g. Then postage is calculated on weight/postcode, plus handling charge.
Q: How are succulents and cacti packaged and sent?
A: Succulents and cacti are sent with most soil removed (bare rooted) to reduce parcel weight and to minimize spillage in transit. This does not harm succulent plants and cacti as they are adapted to survive without soil or water for long periods of time. They are wrapped in paper and are securely packed in boxes and are sent via Auspost.
Q: I have paid for my items and the postage looks expensive. Why?
A: If you pay for your items before I combine your order, eBay will add the postage on each item, which costs more. If this happens I usually send extra plants or a refund to make up difference. It is best to wait till I send a combined invoice as I will calculate the total weight plus $1.00 P&H per item.
 Q: Do succulents change seasonally?
A: Many succulents change seasonally and may look a very different from Summer to Winter. For example, colours for some plants may range seasonally from bluish green to red/yellow tones. Size may also vary. Seasonal variations must be expected and is usually included in the notes and description for each plant.
Q: What is the best soil mix for my succulents and cacti?
A: Succulents like a free draining soil mix. An ideal mixture is 30% coarse sand, 30% peat moss and 30% fine grade potting mix. Succulents and cacti have shallow root systems adapted to directly extract minerals from small soil particles like sand. Avoid large bark fragments over 6mm as many succulents are not adapted to derive nutrients from them.
Q: How many plants can be sent in a 500g parcel?
A: Between 4-8 light weight (A size) succulents or cacti can be sent in a 500g parcel. Plant weight estimates are provided in individual listings.
Q: What are payment options for pickup?
A: The usual payment methods for pick up are cash, bank transfer, or PayPal. Sorry but we do not have credit card or ATM facilities.
Q: When will I get my parcel?
A: Parcels are now sent according to location, the most distant parcels are posted first. Queensland Monday (3-4 days); NSW/SA Tuesday (2-3 days); Victoria Wednesday (1-2 days). Parcels sent to country areas usually take 1 day longer than Metro deliveries. An automated email confirming postage is sent on day of dispatch so you can estimate ETA.
