  • Construction values
Having seen so much bad work around, we were determined to create a range of clothing that surpassed the average in both materials used and construction techniques. We use the best fabric we can get our hands on, from simple crushed velvet to the best in silk brocades. Australian wools are used in cloaks and other appropriate garments whenever possible. Good quality threads are always used. Our clothes won’t fall apart after the first couple of washes

Our corsets are built to withstand hard work and they are constructed to body shape. Top quality cotton/rayon corset satin is used on our basic models with coutil as the lining. Triple stitched throughout and using steel stays and busks, they have waist tapes to protect the waist seams, washers are used on the backs of the eyelets and an extra long lace is used to lace them up. Our corsets are restrictive but never uncomfortable, in fact people are amazed, when they try them on, at how comfortable they are. In 10 years of making them, we have never had a complaint

We give each of our garments personal attention, as a lot of our work is made to measure. We cater for a large range of sizes, and anyone can look good if their clothes fit them well. As to our off the rack garments, while we don’t specialise in any particular size range, we do have an extensive range of sizes. Usually from size 8 to 26 (4 – 22 USA) and we’re happy to make larger and smaller

We try not to be expensive and we’ve been told we’re cheap for the quality of our work but like everything, it’s relative. What we can say is that we try to keep our prices realistic. A lot depends, of course, on the fabrics we use. Some are more difficult to handle than others, (I’ve had my making up time doubled by this) therefore, the cost is likely to be higher but we promise, if we over quote for made to measure work and it comes in under the predicted time, you’ll be informed and the price adjusted accordingly

Regards, Terry and Wendy
