Q: What Grade Aluminium do you use?
A: All of our aluminium toolboxes and Canopies are made from 3003H14 Grade Aluminium (3000 serious) which has added manganese and is 20% stronger than the 1000 Serious Grade Aluminium such as 1060 which is most widely used by our competitors and a lot cheaper. 3003H14 Grade Aluminium has excellent corrosion resistance, and workability. This grade can be deep drawn or spun, welded or brazed.
For custom orders, you have the option to upgrade to 5052H24 Grade Aluminium, which is the highest strength alloy of the more non heat-treatable grades. Its fatigue strength is higher than most other aluminum grades. Alloy 5052 has a good resistance to marine atmosphere and salt water corrosion, and excellent workability. It can be easily drawn or formed into intricate shapes.
Q: How do you measure your checkerplate material?
A: When measuring the thickness of checkerplate aluminium the true thickness should not include the raised section, and should be measured from the thinnest part of the material. A lot may claim 2.5mm thickness for example but include the raised section in this measurement, so in fact true thickness is less than 2.0mm.
Q: Do you take custom orders?
A: We DO, and this is what we are famous for. You may specify the dimensions, add window/dog-box/drawers or have it powder coated. However do prepare to wait a minimum 6 weeks for your custom order. Please contact us to confirm details.
Q: Do you ship the products?
A: We normally do. However a lot of the items are too large to be shipped to your door so they can only be picked up from your local depot. Confirm with us when not clear.
